Price & Value

Titles: Price & Value
Description: Costa Rican Resource is dedicated to offering the best value to our customers with the lowest prices. We treat our employees personally and financially just as well as we expect them to treat our clients.
Metatags: price and value, costa rican resource trips, price of costa rica trips, value for trip

The pricing of our trips is based on the type of lodging, length of stay, number of travelers, and types of adventures. We are always willing to work with groups to try and find a price that fits. We are not out to find the cheapest things to do or places to stay. On all of our trips we are out to find the best value. We want you to see and stay in our favorite places, join us in the best zipline, and raft the top rivers of Costa Rica even if it means it cost a little more to operate.

Our guides and employees receive excellent wages along with benefits. Treating our CRR Team as we hope our clients are treated, reflects in the love for work and the service our employees show each of our guests when traveling with CRR to Costa Rica.

Every little thing must come into account when running a travel business just as nature takes everything into account. Nature is a perfect business model as it waste nothing. There are so many details that must be met in planning a trip and we don't want to waste your time or money we just want to offer excellent service and tour operating from start to finish. It is similar to the value of nature's ecosystem. What you might not know is that it has been estimated our ecosystems combined, come to a grand yearly total of $30 trillion dollars based on the benefits it provides. This includes the photosynthesis and oxygen plants give us for free, the biodegrading of materials, the fresh water cycle, and the energy we receive from it's many sources. This $30 trillion price tag is more than the GDP of every country combined in a year. This is why we feel the most important value is making sure our clients travel in a sustainable manner and leave with a better understanding of what nature is truly worth. This simple lesson would be a huge debt to pay on trips for future generations and lives in general.  If we fail recognize natures net worth the trip today might cost the same but the debt we leave on future generations will be an amount that can never be repaid.

Eco Adventure Family Challenge

It is important that an eco-adventure involves low impact to the environment, sustainable education, and improving the well-being of the local people. What more could you possibly want to give you kids on a vacation?  This is one of our favorite Family Eco-Challenges that we offer. It is an eco-challenge geared towards educating parents and young kids with plenty of adventure.

Day 1 ------------------- Arrive and Drive to Sanchiri Hotel (Sanchiri Hotel)

Today we will meet you at the airport and take you to your first hotel. You will be staying with amazing views of the Orosi Valley below. We will have dinner prepared for you and your adventure guide will go over the plans for the week. We will also teach your family, what is ecotourism? Along with the importance of traveling in a sustainable way. (Meals: Dinner)

Ecotourism Positive Impact: Today you will be staying at the Sanchiri Hotel which is a locally owned hotel and on the government list of hotels making an effort to operate in a sustainable manner. Here you will also learn about ecotourism from our guides and the importance of conservation to the tropics.

Day 2 ------------------- Bike & Raft Duckies in River Pejibaye (Casa Turire Hotel)

We will leave just after breakfast and make our way through the many coffee plantations. We will be on mountain bikes on easy gravel roads that are mostly down hill. We will be biking for around 6 miles. We will arrive to the Pejibaye river which is one of the cleanest rivers in all of Costa Rica. Here we will have small two man duckies where everyone will have to paddle their own boats to the next hotel. This is a great adventure and a chance to get soaked after a morning of mountain biking. We will arrive to the hotel by paddling. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Ecotourism Positive Impact: Today you will be lowering the impact to the environment by making bikes and rivers your form of transportation. Your meals will be cooked by local Costa Rican's that live near the river. The food is grown in and around the river and has not traveled long distances.

Day 3 ----------------- Horseback Ride, Plant Trees to off-set Travel, & Visit Village and Learn Sustainable Living Methods (Village Homestay)

Today is a day where we will saddle up and make our way into the mountains. We will spend the morning on horseback and then make our way up into the beautiful mountains of Turrialba. We will have excellent views of the smoking Turrialba volcano. On our way to the village we will plan on off-setting your air travel by planting trees. It must be noted the importance of planting trees in the tropics and the amount of carbon they can store. When we arrive to the village we will see first hand how people in rural village use methods of living sustainable. We will also learn about the Costa Rican culture and take a peak in how the "masters of sustainability" lived, who are the Native Indians of Costa Rica. In the evening you will be staying in a private home. This home we rent out for our groups and is a simple home in a rural mountain setting. You will have dinner cooked for you by locals from the village and a presentation will be done during your meal of the local dance while you enjoy the local cuisine. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Ecotourism Positive Impact: Today you have your eyes opened up to the sustainable living methods of the Native Indians and also how many rural Costa Rican's live in a simple sustainable manner. All of your food will be from the mountain village. Cost and expenses for todays activities will stay in the village from food expenses, lodging, horseback, and even the shows that are performed. The planting of the trees and off-setting your air travel is very important. This is a great chance for us to explain the importance of how trees in the tropics and the biodiversity that surrounds them.

Day 4 --------------- Hike to and Rappel Waterfall & Travel to Tent Camp on River (Tent Camp)

Today you will breakfast in the village. After breakfast we will take off hiking to a nearby waterfall where we will have the gear set up and ready for the rappel. This is a 100ft waterfall that will get the adrenaline pumping. After the rappel we will make our way to the river camp site. You will be camping along side one of the most beautiful rivers on the planet surrounded by jungle. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Ecotourism Positive Impact: Today we will be eating breakfast in the village which will benefit the local community. We will also have lunch packed for us from food from the local area. Once we arrive to the tent camp there will be a short talk on deforestation in the tropics and it's effects globally.

Day 5 ---------------- Hike through the Jungle & Raft to Second Pacuare Tent Camp (Pacuare Tent Camp)

Today the kids will get the full feel of the jungle. We plan on crossing the rivers in rafts and then hiking for around an hour. We feel it is important to make a hike like this completely surrounded by some of the most biodiverse vegetation on the planet which is our tropical rainforest. We will end our hike a little farther down river where the rafts will be waiting for us. On the hike you will have the chance to learn about the different species of plants and animals in the rainforest. When we get to the rafts get ready for some adventure because we will be taking on the famous Pacuare River. National Geographic has this listed as one of their top 5 rivers on the planet. We will raft for around 1 1/2 hours and then stop for lunch. From here we will then make our way to the second Pacuare Tent Camp where you will be sleeping in paradise surrounded by primary rainforest and the beautiful Pacuare River. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Ecotourism Positive Impact: You can not protect what you do not know. This is why we take our jungle hike to give our guides a chance to show you some of natures most spectacular ways of functioning. Nature operates in a sustainable manner. This is the reason why we must look at nature for what we can learn from it and not by what we can exploit from it.

Day 6 -------------- Raft Pacuare Canyon & Drive to Caribbean Coast (Caribbean Ecolodge)

Today we will make our way down the Pacuare Canyon. Here you will be challenged by the class IV rapids in the canyon and surrounded by beautiful waterfalls from start to finish. When we take out of the river we will load into our transportation and make our way to the Caribbean Coast.

Ecotourism Positive Impact: You will be helping out the local economy of visiting the Caribbean side. The Caribbean side of Costa Rica is the less visited of the two coast. It happens to be in our opinion the more beautiful in many parts. You will also be staying at an ecolodge that has 5 leaves which is the highest standard for ecolodges in Costa Rica.

Day 7 --------------- Snorkel & Visit the Coral Reefs of the Caribbean (Caribbean Ecolodge)

Today you will be snorkeling on the Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica. This is a great way to educate the kids on protecting our ecosystems. We will see the coral reefs and educate on the reasons for why the Corals are disappearing all over Earth. In the evening you will have time to relax at the Ecolodge and enjoy your last meal which will be made locally. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Ecotourism Positive Impact: We will be visiting the Coral Reefs which along with much of the tropical rainforest is becoming victim to destruction. By seeing the reefs we hope to ignite interest in the conservation and most importantly sustainable manner of living which in return will benefit all ecosystems.

Day 8 ------------- Travel to San Jose Area for Flight or Hotel (Airport Hotel)

This is the last day of your adventure. If you have an afternoon flight we can make our way to the airport or you can plan on staying in a nearby airport hotel for the evening to catch a flight on Day 9 of this trip. We will be driving past many large plantations on the way back to the airport and we will plan on educating a bit about the negative affects large mono-culture plantations can have. Many use large amounts of pesticides and have not so good effects on countries and workers. We will also mention solutions to this style of farming and things you can do at home to make the food you eat more local. (Meals: Breakfast & Lunch)

Ecotourism Positive Impact: We will be traveling today the the positive impact you will have is that lunch will be at a local place with local food. You will also get educated on the large mono-culture plantations of banana and pineapple and the effects they can have on countries and it's people.

Eco-Challenge Pacuare River & Caribbean

Ecotourism is responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people. Our Eco-Adventures are our most favorite trips to operate because we get the chance to get completely immersed in the natural world and show off some of Costa Rica's most amazing species and that is the people. This also allows us to educate those from abroad on the importance of sustainable living and commitment to conservation.

This is an eco-challenge adventure for those that want to be out in the elements all day everyday of their Costa Rica Adventure. The trip will not be using any motorized vehicles except for arrival and departure day and final day transfer to the Caribbean. Your mode of transportation will consist of mountain biking, hiking, horseback, rappeling & rafting. This is a medium strenuous trip. We start at a high elevation and make our way down.

Day 1 ------------ Arrive & Drive to Sanchiri Hotel (Sanchiri Hotel)

Here your private adventure guide and driver will meet you at the airport. You will make the drive to the Sanchiri Hotel which is located about 40 minutes from the capital city of San Jose. Here you will have a welcome dinner and orientation to get you ready for the eco-challenge. The hotel you will be staying at has amazing views of the Orosi Valley below with cool mountain weather as this trip starts at a higher elevation and we make our way down. (Meals: Dinner)

Day 2 ------------- Bike to River Pejibaye & Raft Duckies to Casa Turire Hotel (Casa Turire)

We will be getting up early having breakfast and then on the bikes. Today we will be biking down back mountain roads surrounded with views of volcanos. Here we will have lunch prepared for you and some time to get ready for the duckie adventure. We will leave the bikes here. From here everyone will have their own small raft we call duckies. It is now up to you to raft yourself through the class II rapids of the Pejibaye River. Your guides will be with you and it is a great adventure. The river ends at your next hotel which is Casa Turire. The river dumps into a small lake which you will have to row across to get to some of the nicest hotel rooms in all of Costa Rica for a nice relaxing evening in the hot-tubs. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 3 --------------  Horseback, Waterfall Rappel, Dinner in Village and Hike to Hotel (Hacienda Tayutic)

Today we will leave the Casa Turire hotel by horseback and make our way to a nearby waterfall. The ride on horseback is on some of Costa Rica's fittest horses and they make the job relatively easy for you. When we arrive to the waterfall it is time to set up the gear and get ready for a rappel down this 100ft waterfall. This is a chance to get the adrenaline rushing a bit and walk over the edge and rappel down. From here we send the horses back and we hike to the next hotel. This will be about a 2 mile hike to the Hacienda Tayutic where we will enjoy dinner in a local village on the hike back and see some of the culture of the Costa Rican people. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 4 -------------- Plant Trees to Off-set flight, Educating tour on sustainability,  & Bike to La Cruz Camp-site on River Pacuare (Camp on River Pacuare)

Today it is time to get back on the bikes. But before we take off on the bikes we will be planting some trees to offset your flight. We will also use this day to educate a little bit on the importance of the tropics and our commitment to conservation. This is a beautiful bike ride and when we arrive to the camp-site at the side of the river you will have the afternoon to just enjoy being in the jungle. We will take some nature hikes around the area and just enjoy the river. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 5 ---------------  Raft to Second Pacuare Tent Camp (Camp on River Pacuare)

Today we will have breakfast ready for you when you wake up and then get ready for a day of rafting. This is one of the finest ecolodges in the country with a full commitment to sustainability. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 8 ----------------- Snorkeling the Reefs of the Caribbean (Almonds & Corals)

We do have one last adventure for you and that is snorkeling. The Caribbean side of Costa Rica has some of the most diverse marine habitats and we feel it is becoming more and more important to share and show what we are losing daily. The Coral reefs around the world are not going to exist in years to come if we keep traveling the way we have been traveling. It is through this itinerary that you will have proved that there are ways of traveling that have much less of an impact on our environment and positive impacts on local people. (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner)

Day 9 ------------------- Drive back to San Jose (Airport Hotel)

Today we will make the drive back from the Caribbean side and you will be staying at a hotel near the airport. Day 10 ------------------ Fly Home!
