Volcan Rincon de la Vieja

This volcano sits in a 55 square mile national park. Although it is not far from a tourist area, Ricon is pleasantly uncrowded. Volcan Rincon has nine separate craters. Only one is active. The highest crater is 6,250 feet. The eastern slope of the volcano receives rain all-year-round. The western slope is more diversified. Some of it is very dry and other parts are clooud forest. You can see capuchin and spider monkeys, and hiking is very good here.
